Life is not always rainbows and unicorns. Before we get to see the beautiful rainbows, we have to encounter the storm. All of us have walked or will walk through the storm at some point in our lives. Sometimes it comes when we least expect it in a form that is more jarring and deadlier than our imagination.
Genesis 9:13-17 (NIV) 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.” 17 So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.
God made it a covenant between him and all life on the earth and the rainbow is the sign of his promise that is still standing firm.
When you are caught in the storm, it might feel like you are incapable of doing what you know you should do. But God urges you to get up and go. Be with the people who see you. People who do not judge you for what was done to you or where you have been. Go and be among those people who celebrate your overcoming of what's now in the past and celebrate you for who you are.
A community that supports your heart’s desires to be righteous is where you will meet God among you even through touches of unbelievers. He will show up in you or them or among you to reveal to his children the anointing to be a vessel of his love.
There are many who need to turn around and see that on the other side of the storm, the rainbow is forming. God has been waiting on them with wide open arms. He had always been there for you through your suffering and in the moments of your pride echoing too.
He loves us at our lowest the same as at the mountain tops. Through his mercy, we were brought into the light of righteousness. Stay on the course in the midst of a storm. The Lord will fight for you. Keep on walking in the path. When the time is right, God will call your name again to exalt you.
